What autopilots are compatible with Kahuna?
Kahuna is tested and compatible with Ardupilot and PX4, any other autopilot firmware which publishes mavlink over serial should also work with Kahuna. Kahuna is plug-and-play with Cube and Pixhawk 2 and later autopilots through a 6 pin JST-GH connector. Other autopilots can be connected with an adapter cable.
How far can Kahuna communicate?
A maximum range of 2.5km has been achieved using a USB Wi-Fi dongle and the supplied 3dB dipole antenna. If using the built-in antenna in a phone, tablet or laptop range will be determined by the specifications of the device's antenna.

How do I get Wi-Fi telemetry from a Pixhawk?
Connect your Beyond Robotix Kahuna to a free telemetry port on your Pixhawk and set the appropriate baud rate in Mission Planner or QGroundControl (default: 57600). You can now connect wirelessly to your autopilot by connecting to the WiFi access point SSID: BeyondRobotix Password: beyondrobotix. Head to 192.168.4.1 in a browser to adjust settings. How do I extend the range of MAVLink Wi-Fi telemetry?
The Kahuna has a U.FL connector which enables a wide range of antennas to be used. A more directional antenna such as a patch antenna can be used to increase the range of the Kahuna for the same output power.
Is the Kahuna firmware open source?
The Kahuna firmware is open source and available at https://github.com/BeyondRobotix/Kahuna.
How can I get telemetry from multiple drones on one ground station?
When connected to the Kahuna access point head to 192.168.4.1 in a browser and change the mode to station mode. Enter the SSID and password of an existing WiFi network and reboot the Kahuna. The Kahuna will now connect to the existing WiFi network. This process can be repeated for multiple vehicles and telemetry from all of them will be available in Mission Planner or QGroundControl on devices connected to the same network.
What is the maximum range of MAVLink Wi-Fi telemetry?
In testing a range of 2.5km was acheived using a small dipole antenna on the Kahuna and a 2.4Ghz wifi dongle on the ground station.
